On the Record with Angela Talton

At the beginning of this year, Angela Talton was named chief diversity officer at Nielsen. While Talton has been working on Nielsen’s diversity and inclusion efforts since 2012, this is a new role at the company and is part of an overall strategy to re-imagine diversity on a global scale. With these changes in mind, Andrew McCaskill, Nielsen’s senior vice president of global communications sat down with Talton to discuss what diversity and inclusion mean at Nielsen, a company with presence in more than 100 countries.

Talton also clarifies her priorities—from helping our clients understand the habits of new consumer groups around the world and leveraging our diverse perspectives while doing so to continuing to support science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and developing diverse leadership—and explains how being a data company affects our perspective toward diversity and inclusion.
